Stone's Throw Coffee is built to be a welcoming, low-pressure place — online too. We collect as little as possible, we don’t sell your information, and we try to explain the rest in plain English here.

Who we are
This policy covers this website. Stone's Throw Coffee is a coffee shop and community arts space at Knoxville, TN. If you have any questions about it, email us at [email protected].
What we collect
Information you choose to give us.
- Email signups. If you join our email list, we collect the email address you enter so we can send you shop updates. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- Contact & booking forms. If you message us or pitch an event, art, a reading, or a performance, we collect what you put in the form — typically your name, email address, and your message — so we can reply.
Information collected automatically.
- Basic server logs. Like almost every website, our host records standard technical information (such as your browser type and a truncated IP address) to keep the site secure and working. This is not used to identify you.
- Privacy-friendly analytics. If enabled, we use a cookieless analytics tool (Cloudflare Web Analytics) that reports aggregate, anonymous traffic trends. It does not use cookies, does not fingerprint you, and does not track you across other sites.
How we use your information
- To reply to your message or event request.
- To send you the updates you asked for (and nothing you didn’t).
- To keep the website secure, working, and a little better over time.
We do not sell your personal information, and we don’t use it for targeted advertising.
Who we share it with
We share your information only with the service providers that help us run the site, and only as needed for them to do that job:
- Email newsletter — our newsletter provider stores your email address and sends our updates.
- Form delivery — our form provider passes your message along to our inbox.
- Website hosting & analytics — our host serves the site and provides the privacy-friendly, aggregate analytics described above.
- Maps — our Visit page can show a map embedded from Google. See Cookies & tracking below.
We may also share information if the law requires it. Otherwise, it stays with us.
Cookies & tracking
We keep cookies to a minimum. We don’t use advertising cookies, and we don’t track you across other websites.
- Essential only. The site itself uses only what’s necessary to work, plus a small piece of browser storage to remember that you’ve dismissed our cookie notice (so it doesn’t keep reappearing). That preference stays on your device.
- Analytics. Our analytics, when enabled, are cookieless — no analytics cookies are set.
- The embedded map. The map on our Visit page is provided by Google and can set its own cookies. Because of that, it does not load until you click to load it. If you’d rather not, you can open the location directly in Google Maps in a new tab instead — your choice, every time.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time; the site will still work.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe from emails any time using the link in any email we send.
- Access, correct, or delete the information you’ve given us by emailing [email protected]. We’ll take care of it.
How long we keep it
We keep your information only as long as we need it for the purpose you gave it to us — for example, until you unsubscribe, or for a reasonable time after we’ve answered your message — and then we delete or anonymize it.
Children’s privacy
Our website isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information. Everyone’s welcome in the shop, but the forms here are meant for adults.
Links to other sites
We link out to places like our GoFundMe and our social pages. Those sites have their own privacy practices, and this policy doesn’t cover them.

If we change how we handle your information, we’ll update this page and the “last updated” date above.
